When we first set out to produce an authentic, ivy league style Shetland sweater here in America, we questioned whether it was still possible in this day and age. So we were astounded by our discovery of a small water-powered mill town in New Hampshire that has been spinning woolen yarns since 1794. But finding the Shetland wool was only half the battle. Knitting the sweater with all the authentic details, notably a fully fashioned saddle shoulder (a process through which the body and sleeve are joined together by knitting rather than sewing) was a true victory.
